His Childhood

His mother, Gloria was graduating from Highschool at that time when he was born. His biological father had left them so Gloria was forced to solely raise her son. Things seem to get well when she met Eddie Jackson and the young LeBron looked at him as a father figure since he didn't have any contact with his real dad.

HighSchool Days

Jackson I would say is one of the first fans of LeBron during his
Highschool basketball games. When LeBron was a junior high, with his awesome skills and achievements, the Press Media easily recognized his talent and predicted him to be the next basketball icon. it was clear then to his mind that he's going to jump from Highschool to the NBA spotlight. James originally played football in high school. During his sophmore year, he was named First Team-All State as a wide receiever, and in his junior year he helped lead SVSM to the state semifinals in football.

Freshman

As a freshman playing basketball, James wore jersey number 32 before adopting his current number 23 as a tribute to his role model, Michael Jordan.

LeBron James was the starting point-guard on the team but the spotlight was on Maverick Carter (who will be his bestfriend and manager in the coming days). With their leadership, St.Vincent-St.Mary team recorded a 27-0 record and cruised all the way to a Division III title!

Sophomore

LeBron took the team on his shoulders after Carter graduated from HighSchool as SVSM claimed a back to back title feat. He was named
"Mr. Basketball" of Ohio. USA today selected LeBron to the
All-USA First team. The first sophomore to do such!

Junior

LeBron covers on Sports Illustrated
He was named Mr. Basketball Ohio and was included again to the All-USA First team. But unfortunately they failed to defend their title when they moved up to the more challenging Division II. LeBron tried to enter the NBA Draft but he failed because the draft rules prevented him since he was still in Junior High. He tried to make a petition but it failed but anyways it made him more popular as he appeared on the covers of Sports Illustrated and ESPN The Magazine

Senior

LeBron is Back

His senior year was the most controversial one. He was suspended for 2 games for violating the Ohio State School Athletic Association guidelines after posing for an urban clothing store "NEXT". The rule was no amateur player may accept any gift valued over $100 as a reward for athletic performance. Well, LeBron received two throwback basketball jerseys worth $845.

His mother didn't escape the controversy

as well when she used her son's future earning power as collateral to secure a bank loan to buy an $80,000 Hummer H2 for her son's 18th birthday.

Well... it didn't distract his game as the Irish soared for their 3rd title, was named Mr. Basketball Ohio and to the All-USA First Team again. That made him earn MVP Honors at the McDonald's All-American Game, the EA Sports Roundball Classic and the Jordan Capital Classic. He lost his NCAA eligibility after that because the rules said that you can't join a high school all-star event more than twice. That sucks!

NBA Career - Rookie Season

LeBron James became an instant celebrity due to immense public interest. One of the most anticipated drafts in NBA history, Cleveland Cleveland Cavaliers picked LeBron James as the 1st overall pick in the 2003 Draft.

Do you know that even before he played his 1st NBA game, Nike already offered a $95 million contract? wow, that's way far compared to his rookie contract!

Hey do you remember the 2003 NBA Draft? here it is and reminisce the moments as LeBron ascends to the NBA Spotlights!

As you know if you're an avid fan, he won the Rookie of the Year honors (the youngest in NBA history and first in Cleveland Cavaliers Franchise) with 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, joining his idol Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson as the only 3 players in NBA history to average atleast 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in a rookie season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers didn't make the playoffs, they were 35-47 then but it was a big improvement compared to their 17-65 record the previous season, now you see how LeBron quickly created an impact to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

2004-2005 Season

In the offseason, LeBron joined the 2004 Olympics in Greece and they ended with a Bronze.

LeBron James became the youngest player to register a triple-double (double digit in 3 statistical categories such as points, rebounds, assist, block, steal and turnover! haha!) and also the youngest player to score 50 points in a game, making his first All-Star team in the process.

He ended the season with 27.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.2 assist per game but not quite enough to earn a playoff spot at 42-40.

2005-2006 Season

The Cleveland Cavaliers made alot of changes from player acquisitions, General Manager and head coach and it all paid off.

At the 2006 NBA All-Star Game, LeBron James was a big factor with 29 points and 6 rebounds as the All-Star East prevailed over the West. LeBron was awarded the game's MVP, and AGAIN the youngest player in history to do such.

LeBron averaged 31.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game, most importantly the Cleveland Cavaliers finally made it to the playoffs since 1998 with a 50-32 record, 4th in the Eastern Conference.

2006 Playoffs

Unfortunately, LeBron finished 2nd to Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns in MVP voting. But for sure he will win the MVP award soon!

On April 22, LeBron started HOT, recording a triple double on his playoff debut game against the Washington Wizards with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, only the 3rd player in history to accomplish such feat. On April 28 he accomplish another feat, the only player to score over 40 points in his debut road game, he tallied with 41 in a Game 3 win over the Wizards. Eventually, the Cleveland Cavaliers won the series 4 games to 2.

LeBron and LeBron James Jr. The Cleveland Cavaliers faced the Eastern Conference Champion Detroit Pistons in the semi-finals. They almost made it, when LeBron led the team to a 3-2 series lead (LeBron James with his son, LeBron James Jr., after an 86-77 win over the Pistons) but not enough to oust the 2004 Champs.
I was really frustrated during Game 6, that was really close! And when they went back to Detroit for Game 7, they were massacred! too bad. Anyways I know they will bounce back next season.

2006-2007 Season

During the 2006-07 season, James was elected to his third consecutive All-Star game appearance and gathered the highest vote (actually 2nd most in league history), where he played a game high 32 minutes and finished with 28 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. For the regular season, the Cavaliers managed to tie the previous season's record with 50 wins and clinched an Eastern Conference second seed playoff berth. James concluded the season averaging 27.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.6 steals. He joined Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history to average 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for three consecutive years!

On April 30th the James-led Cavaliers, defeated their 1st round opponents the depleted Washington Wizards in a four game sweep. For the series James averaged 27.8 ppg, 7.5 apg and 8.5 rpg.

June 1, 2007 - LeBron Erupted for 48 points
Time and time again came LeBron, no other option, no other chance for the Cleveland Cavaliers. One on five every time. One LeBron, five Piston defenders and Detroit barely had a prayer.

In a performance for the ages, the 22-year-old star answered the age-old question of whether one man can beat an entire team.

LeBron 109, Detroit 107.

In Game 5, in a game of five, one won.

Here in the East finals, LeBron James scored his team's last 25 points, 29 of its final 30 and 48 overall (to go with nine rebounds and seven assists) in one of the most astounding, astonishing efforts in NBA history.

In Game 6 LeBron James and Daniel "Boobie" Gibson tandemed to lead the Cavs to it's 1st NBA Finals appearance in its 37-year franchise history! Relive those memories with this heroic performance video.
